The Applied Geoscience Solutions Division (AGS) applies geophysical and geological technologies to solve real-world societal and industrial challenges, bridging fundamental research and practical application to create tangible impact. Its ten centers span the full arc of applied geoscience - from carbon storage and nuclear waste disposal to oil, gas, and geothermal development, geohazard monitoring, renewable energy infrastructure (notably offshore wind), critical mineral exploration, site characterization, environmental geoscience, and special applications such as archaeology, forensics, and defense.
