Professor Ju-Won Oh Appointed as Head of LINC3.0 Future Talent Nurturing Center

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Professor Ju-Won Oh of the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced his appointment as the Head of the LINC3.0 Future Talent Nurturing Center at Jeonbuk National University.

Jeonbuk National University newly launched the 3rd Stage Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Leading University Nurturing Project (LINC3.0) in May 2022. This project aims to foster practical talents through cooperation among universities, industries, and research institutions, and contribute to regional industrial development.

Professor Ju-Won Oh has served as the head professor of the talent nurturing department since the previous 2nd Stage LINC+ project, planning and operating various talent nurturing programs within the university. In particular, based on his expertise in energy and environment, he has led the development of practical curricula linked to industrial sites.

The Future Talent Nurturing Center is a core organization of the LINC3.0 project, responsible for discovering and operating industry-academia-research linked education programs within the province and global education programs. It aims to foster convergent talents suitable for the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution and supply customized human resources needed by regional industries.

Professor Ju-Won Oh plans to particularly focus on expanding global education programs based on his international research experience and network. He will concentrate on enhancing students' international competitiveness by expanding exchange programs with excellent overseas universities, increasing opportunities for participation in international collaborative research, and strengthening cooperation with global companies.

An official from the LINC3.0 Project Group stated, "Professor Ju-Won Oh's rich industry-academia cooperation experience and global network will be a great help in operating the Future Talent Nurturing Center." They added, "We expect to further strengthen Jeonbuk National University's competitiveness through talent nurturing programs that encompass both local and global aspects."

Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "I will do my best to foster future-oriented talents suitable for the rapidly changing industrial environment." He added, "In particular, I will further strengthen cooperation with industries to foster specialized personnel needed in the era of energy transition and carbon neutrality."
