Professor Ju-Won Oh Receives Best Paper Award from KSMER
[Jeonju=GeoVis] Professor Ju-Won Oh of the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced on the 3rd that he received the Best Paper Award from the Korea Society of Mineral and Energy Resources (KSMER) in November 2022.
The award-winning paper is "A Study on the Applicability of 4D Time-Lapse Seismic Technology Based on Frequency-Domain Reverse Time Migration for CO2 Geological Storage Monitoring in Pohang Yeongil Bay", published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Mineral and Energy Resources Engineers.
This paper is a study that examined the applicability of 4D time-lapse seismic technology for CO2 geological storage monitoring in the Pohang Yeongil Bay area, and it was evaluated as a significant contribution to the development of domestic CCS technology.
In particular, its innovative approach using frequency-domain reverse time migration was highly recognized for contributing to the improvement of accuracy in CCS monitoring technology.
This award is an achievement that demonstrates Professor Ju-Won Oh's continuous research efforts and academic excellence in the CCS field.
