Professor Ju-Won Oh Publishes Paper in Geophysical Journal International, a Top-Tier Journal
[Jeonju=GeoVis] Professor Ju-Won Oh of the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced on the 3rd that he published a paper in Geophysical Journal International, a top-tier journal in the field of geophysics, in May 2022.
The published paper is "Two-step full waveform inversion of diving and reflected waves with the diffraction-angle-filtering-based scale-separation technique", and was conducted through international collaborative research with Seoul National University, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), and the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST).
This paper is a study on two-step full waveform inversion technology using a diffraction-angle-filtering-based scale separation technique, presenting an innovative methodology for effectively separating and processing refracted and reflected waves.
In particular, it received high international acclaim for developing a new approach that overcomes the limitations of existing full waveform inversion techniques and significantly improves the accuracy of large-scale subsurface imaging.
Geophysical Journal International is one of the most authoritative journals in the field of geophysics, and this paper publication is an achievement that demonstrates the lab's world-class research capabilities.
