Researcher Sea-Eun Park Enters PhD Program in Environmental Energy Convergence

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Sea-Eun Park, a researcher at the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL), announced that she has been admitted to the PhD program in Environmental Energy Convergence for the second semester of 2023.

Sea-Eun Park successfully completed her master's program and will begin her doctoral program in the same lab. During her master's program, she achieved outstanding research results, including numerous presentations at international conferences and winning best paper awards.

In her doctoral program, she plans to conduct in-depth research focusing on CCS monitoring technology and anisotropic seismic imaging. Based on her experience in international collaborative research, she aims to produce world-class research results.

Sea-Eun Park has experience conducting collaborative research with world-class research institutions such as NTNU in Norway, and MIT and LBNL in the United States during her master's program. This international network and research experience are expected to be a great asset in her doctoral program.

The Department of Environmental Energy Convergence is a representative interdisciplinary department at Jeonbuk National University, offering a multidisciplinary curriculum that encompasses environmental science and energy engineering. In particular, it focuses on fostering experts in carbon neutrality and renewable energy.

The Geophysics Computing Lab produces world-class geophysics experts through a systematic curriculum that connects undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. In particular, it focuses on strengthening global capabilities through international collaborative research.

In the doctoral program, she is expected to develop new theories and technologies in geophysics through more original and in-depth research. In particular, practical research achievements related to the commercialization of CCS technology are expected to attract attention.
