Professor Ju-Won Oh Appointed to Jeonbuk Regional Environmental Office Environmental Impact Review Committee

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Professor Ju-Won Oh of the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced on the 1st that he has been appointed as a member of the Jeonbuk Regional Environmental Office's Environmental Impact Review Committee for Spring Water Development.

The appointment period is two years, from November 1, 2023, to October 31, 2025. Professor Ju-Won Oh will be responsible for reviewing the environmental impact of spring water development projects as a geophysics expert.

The Environmental Impact Review Committee for Spring Water Development is an organization that scientifically evaluates and reviews the impact of groundwater development on the surrounding environment when granting permits for spring water extraction. This field particularly requires specialized knowledge of groundwater flow and geological structures.

Professor Ju-Won Oh's appointment was made in recognition of his expertise in accurately assessing the impact of spring water development on the groundwater environment, based on his extensive research experience in geophysical exploration and subsurface structure analysis.

Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "I will contribute to finding a balance between environmental preservation and sustainable development by utilizing my expertise as a geophysicist." He added, "I will strive to protect the environment in the Jeonbuk region through scientific and objective reviews."
