Master's Student Yun-Ha Jung Receives Best Paper Presentation Award at Fall Resources Joint Conference

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Yun-Ha Jung, a master's student researcher at the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL), announced on the 28th that she received the Best Student Paper Presentation Award at the 2023 Fall Resources Joint Conference.

Yun-Ha Jung earned this award by presenting on 'Current Status of Seismic Imaging Research at Utah Geothermal Power Plant and Plans for International Collaborative Research' in the oral presentation category.

The presentation systematically introduced the current progress of seismic imaging research being conducted at the Utah FORGE geothermal power demonstration site in the United States and future plans for international collaborative research. In particular, the latest trends and practical application methods of subsurface imaging technology for geothermal resource development were highly evaluated.

The Fall Resources Joint Conference is a representative academic event in the domestic resource engineering field, annually selecting and awarding students who have presented excellent research achievements.

Yun-Ha Jung is currently conducting long-term dispatch research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) in the United States through the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning's Energy Human Resources Development Project.
