Geophysics Computing Lab Visits KIOST and Exchanges Marine Research

[Busan=GeoVis] Professor Ju-Won Oh and PhD candidate Sea-Eun Park from the Geophysics Computing Lab at Jeonbuk National University visited the Climate Change Response and Ecology Research Department of the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) in Busan on August 1st, engaging in active exchanges in marine research.

Professor Ju-Won Oh gave a presentation on "Demonstration Research of Seismic Full-Waveform Inversion for CO2 Geological Storage and Offshore Wind Farm Site Selection," sharing the results of ongoing marine research at Jeonbuk National University and seeking advice on improving the results. They also had in-depth discussions on potential collaborative research and development projects.

This visit was a significant opportunity for the Geophysics Computing Lab to understand the latest trends in marine geophysics and strengthen its cooperative relationship with a leading marine research institution in Korea.

Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "This visit to KIOST was a great help in strengthening our lab's marine research capabilities and exploring ways to contribute to solving real marine environmental problems." He added, "We will continue to contribute to the development of marine science and technology through ongoing exchanges."

After the seminar, they had a time of communication over dinner with researchers from the Climate Change Response and Ecology Research Department.
