Master's Student Jung Yoon-ha Successfully Completes Research Dispatch to Qualcomm Institute, USA

[San Diego=GeoVis] Jung Yoon-ha, a Master's student at Jeonbuk National University's Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL), successfully concluded her research dispatch to the Qualcomm Institute, USA, as part of the Digital Global Research Talent Nurturing Project by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), returning to Korea on February 22, 2025.

From August 21, 2024, for approximately six months, Jung Yoon-ha was dispatched to the Qualcomm Institute to conduct research on the development of artificial intelligence (AI) core technologies. This dispatch served as a significant opportunity to deepen theoretical understanding of cutting-edge AI technologies and explore their practical applicability.

In particular, through this research, Jung Yoon-ha focused on optimizing deep learning models using large datasets and designing efficient algorithms. This is expected to greatly contribute to increasing the utilization of AI technology in future geophysical data analysis and interpretation fields.

Jung Yoon-ha commented, "The research experience at the Qualcomm Institute greatly helped me improve my collaboration and problem-solving skills in a global research environment. I sincerely thank all the researchers and staff at QI who provided generous support and guidance during my research period."

The Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL) plans to continuously support students to acquire the latest technological trends and grow into global leaders through exchanges with world-renowned research institutions.
