PhD Student Sea-Eun Park Selected as a Beneficiary of the JBNU-G FYE Fellowship Research Grant

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Sea-Eun Park, a Ph.D. student at the Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL) of Jeonbuk National University, has been honored as a recipient of the JBNU-G FYE (First-Year Experience) Fellowship research grant for the second semester of the 2024 academic year.

The JBNU-G FYE Fellowship is a key support program established by Jeonbuk National University to foster strategic talent and encourage outstanding domestic and international graduate students to pursue their doctoral studies at the university. This semester, the fellowship was awarded to approximately 30 students from various departments participating in the BK21 program, following a rigorous selection process. Sea-Eun Park was ultimately selected as a recipient in the natural sciences and engineering category for domestic graduate students, and she will receive a research grant of 3 million KRW.

This achievement is a formal recognition of Sea-Eun Park's exceptional research capabilities and academic potential. It also serves as another testament to the excellence and sustainability of the research being conducted in our lab, particularly in the fields of carbon neutrality and resource security.

The research grant was awarded on February 17, 2025. Professor Ju-Won Oh, the academic advisor, stated, "I sincerely congratulate Sea-Eun Park on her award. I expect this fellowship to be a significant stepping stone for her to enhance her research immersion and grow into a key talent with international competitiveness." This program is anticipated to improve the research environment for doctoral students and accelerate the creation of innovative research outcomes.
