The GeoVerse System Administration Division (GSA) maintains and evolves the GeoVerseLab infrastructure to enable reliable, autonomous, 24/7 scientific operations, with a long-term vision of self-healing, self-optimizing systems that let research proceed without manual intervention. Its scope spans four core domains - infrastructure automation and orchestration, AIOps and intelligent monitoring, database and knowledge-management systems, and cybersecurity and access control - through which it applies AI and automation directly to system operations. The division's approach is to pursue zero-touch infrastructure management with continuous reliability improvement.

Infrastructure & Cloud Operations Center

Designs and operates scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure for computational geoscience research, covering Kubernetes cluster orchestration, multi-cloud architecture, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible), and container registry/image optimization.

Database & Knowledge Systems Center

Builds and maintains high-performance relational, spatial, and graph database systems - PostgreSQL/PostGIS optimization, Neo4j knowledge graphs, time-series stores (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB) - with advanced indexing, query optimization, and semantic search/ontology support.

AI Operations & Automation Center

Deploys and operationalizes AI/ML models through MLOps pipelines - model registry/versioning, workflow orchestration (Airflow/Prefect), and serving (TorchServe, TensorFlow Serving) - with monitoring and A/B testing to keep production AI systems reproducible and continuously improving.

Cybersecurity & Compliance Center

Ensures data security, access control, and regulatory compliance across all research infrastructure through zero-trust network architecture (ZTNA), PKI/certificate management, SIEM-based threat detection (ELK, Wazuh), and adherence to ISO 27001/GDPR compliance frameworks.

Application & Simulation Operations Center

Operates and ensures the reliability of application runtimes, interactive simulators (geosim, geoplay, georoom), and workflow/editor execution (geostudio, geowave), along with session-aggregation/knowledge-precipitation (geobrain, geodiagenesis) and media pipelines (geovault).

Meta-Governance & Interface Center

Governs the evolution of the cross-cutting ontology layer (geoontology skeleton, entity/relation types, PROV-O audit ledger) and the policies mediating agent-external-world interfaces - external LLM gateways (geomcp), command inbox contracts (geoclaw), and skill/persona registries (geoharness).

Software Engineering & Development Center

Develops and curates research software as first-class artifacts: complete verified packages (GeoCode), micro-function blocks (GeoHub), verified numerical modules (GeoSDK), agent-executable knowledge blocks (GeoShelf), and GitHub research-code reproduction (GeoStream) — establishing taxonomy, verification gates, and provenance/lineage standards distinct from database operations (DBS) and application runtime operations (APP).
