Master's Student Lee Young-joo Successfully Concludes Research Dispatch to University of Calgary, Canada

[Calgary=GeoVis] Lee Young-joo, a Master's student at Jeonbuk National University's Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL), successfully concluded her research dispatch to the University of Calgary, Canada, as part of the Digital Global Research Talent Nurturing Project by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), returning to Korea on December 21, 2024.

From June 24, 2024, for approximately six months, Lee Young-joo was dispatched to the University of Calgary to conduct research on the development of artificial intelligence (AI)-based spatial information and geophysical data interpretation technologies. This dispatch served as a significant opportunity to strengthen global competencies required in the rapidly changing digital era and contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge technologies in the field of geophysics.

In particular, through this research, Lee Young-joo focused on developing AI-based solutions for efficiently analyzing and visualizing vast geophysical data. This is expected to greatly contribute to improving the accuracy of data-driven decision-making in future geophysical exploration and resource development fields.

The Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL) plans to actively support students with opportunities for overseas dispatches and collaborative research to further strengthen their global competencies.
