Well & Production Engineering Department

The Well & Production Engineering Department trains hands-on engineers who can take responsibility for everything from drilling to maximizing ultimate recovery in oil and gas operations. Through reservoir-stimulation simulation coursework, students master horizontal and multilateral well design and hydraulic fracturing techniques, design and compare chemical, thermal, and gas-injection enhanced-oil-recovery (EOR) scenarios, and learn to forecast a well's long-term productivity through production-decline-curve analysis. Graduates can make independent field decisions spanning drilling design through production strategy.
