Hydrogeology & Soil Science Department

The Hydrogeology & Soil Science Department has students learn by directly reproducing groundwater systems โ€” including artesian aquifers โ€” and unsaturated-zone soil processes through groundwater-flow modeling (MODFLOW/HYDRUS-type approaches). Students run project-based simulations to evaluate water-resource management scenarios, graduating with the track record of having carried a groundwater-and-soil modeling project through independently, in support of sustainable water-resource management.
