Marine Biology & Ecology Department

The Marine Biology & Ecology Department teaches marine ecology through population- and ecosystem-level modeling that simulates plankton community dynamics and biodiversity. Students train to interpret the resulting ecological processes and evolutionary patterns of marine organisms and ecosystems; by graduation, they have internalized the eye for quantitatively analyzing and forecasting change in marine ecosystems.
